Arrest Made in Paris Las Vegas Case Following Restroom Blasts and Fire Incident

Homeless Man Arrested in Connection with Restroom Fire at Paris Las Vegas
A homeless man, Kenny Terry, is facing charges of arson and making false statements to police after a restroom fire incident at the Paris Las Vegas on Monday. Terry was arrested and appeared in a local court on Tuesday. The judge issued a warning to Terry, prohibiting him from returning to the Paris Las Vegas or risk being placed back in jail. His next court appearance is scheduled for August 15.
Explosions and Fire Spark Panic
The incident unfolded when a series of explosions rocked the restroom, catching the attention of a nearby construction worker. This worker witnessed the explosions and saw flames emanating from a restroom stall. Quick to respond, the worker grabbed fire extinguishers to douse the flames, and firefighters later arrived to fully control the blaze.
Unraveling the Aftermath
During the investigation, surveillance footage revealed Terry’s presence near the restroom after the explosions. Subsequent events saw Terry pushing a stroller carrying a gray backpack on a Las Vegas street. He disposed of the backpack and stroller, changed his clothing, and made his way through various casinos along the Strip. Paris Las Vegas security guards eventually spotted Terry, leading to a pursuit by LVMPD officers and his subsequent apprehension near the Bellagio.
Under questioning, Terry initially denied any involvement in starting the fire and claimed he did not possess a lighter. However, an accelerant was detected near the discarded backpack by a specially trained dog. Further testing will be conducted to determine the nature of the accelerant. The fire caused an estimated $50,000 in damages to the Paris Las Vegas, with some occupants reporting smoke inhalation but no serious injuries.
