New York has been the battleground for many casino brands looking to snag a casino license. The battle is far from over as everyone involved is waiting for the final round. Silverstein Properties is a relatively new player that has ambitious plans.
Namely, the company is looking to build an affordable housing project completed with a casino. The project could come alive in West Manhattan. The project is titled the Avenir and the company is going to work together with Greenwood Gaming and Entertainment.
The Avenir Gives People Affordable Housing and Entertainment
Big casino brands are looking for a piece of New York, but they aren’t the only ones. Companies like Silverstein Properties already have some history with the city as Silverstein has spearheaded and completed 549 affordable housing projects in West NY.
The Avenir is their latest project. They’re looking to make it come true with their partner Greenwood Gaming and Entertainment, the company that owns Parx Casino. The project will be made up of two towers that will be linked together with a sky bridge.
Each tower is going to have 46 stories as well as a thousand luxury hotel rooms. The casino section of the project will offer 600,000 square feet of gaming space completed with a 1,000-seat performance hall. An additional 100 units of affordable housing are also part of the project. This ambitious project will also have a restaurant complex that casino players and visitors can dine in when they’re looking to take a break and enjoy themselves.
So far, the project has yet to be approved and licensed. The proper bodies need to be contacted and the proper documents need to be prepared. The Avenir project might become the next best thing in West Manhattan and company officials are looking forward to making it come to life.
There is still no word of how the process is going to continue and if the project will get the green light or not. Nevertheless, Avenir will house people and cater to casino fans in one of the best cities in the world.
