Chalmers to Face Mayweather

Chalmers to Face Mayweather

Aaron Chalmers, a former reality TV star who managed to land five wins in MMA and recently secured a points victory in his boxing debut, has been selected as an opponent for Floyd Mayweather’s next fight which is an exhibition fight on February 25 at London’s O2 Arena. Mayweather is a monster that has a record of 50 professional bouts and has stood tall against several MMA fighters in exhibition contests in recent years and has never fought on British soil before.

Chalmers, who is fully aware of his opponent’s capabilities, describes fighting Mayweather like a dream come true and says he is more excited than nervous. Despite being a TV micro-celebrity, he made a decision to make the switch to MMA. Chalmers is at peace with the fact that his upcoming fight with Mayweather is one that will put his career on the map, regardless of the outcome. The fight takes place on the same weekend that Newcastle United, Chalmers’ favorite football team, plays Man United in the League Cup final, so he is expecting Mayweather to make use of this information. In other words, Mayweather may use this match to psyche Chalmers out.

The Rookie vs the Seasoned Boxer

Chalmers was a Geordie Shore contestant in 2014 and started his MMA career three years later, he landed seven fights, with Bellator promotion for the last 4. Mayweather, who’s a boxing legend in his own right, defeated Manny Pacquiao, Saul Canelo Alvarez, and British boxer Ricky Hatton before ending a spectacular professional career by beating none other than Conor McGregor in a boxing match of the century.

Despite his retirement, Mayweather still shows he’s a top-tier boxer despite taking exhibition fights against opponents with various backgrounds. Chalmers admits that he could have sleepless nights and worry about his upcoming fight, but is going to keep taking it as it comes. Trying to keep the pace with an opponent like Mayweather is tough, but he’s going to have to do it. He knows he will get hit many times and says that his goal is to last as many rounds as possible.

Chalmers sees his upcoming clash with Mayweather as an opportunity to get big fights in the future. He says that everything he does now is his legacy, so the more fights he gets, the better. Chalmers is preparing as much as he can, but admits that it’s hard to prepare to face the greatest fighter of all time who’s allergic to punches. He says that he just has to be fit and that he needs to punch more to catch Mayweather off-guard.

Conclusion

Chalmers needs to get fit for his next fight with Mayweather. He’s facing a tough opponent who has excellent defensive skills and a proven track record. Chalmers has yet to prove his worth which is why his upcoming fight is so important.
