Gaming Addict Can’t Withdraw Winnings

Gaming addiction is one of the most serious problems the casino industry is dealing with. There are people these individuals could talk to regardless if they do so offline or online. They can even put themselves on a list to keep themselves from gaming.

But this didn’t work for Gus Vega, an Australian casino enthusiast. He put himself on a list, but an Australian casino called the CSi Club let him in. He played some pokies and managed to win a jackpot of $11,000, but when he went to the cashier he couldn’t get his winnings because he was on a list.

A Lifelong Battle, an Urge to Visit a Casino

Some addicts start early and make it out of the deep hole known as addiction. It’s difficult for them to ask for help because of the stigma of playing casino games. Something similar happened to Gus. He was an airplane engineer and he started what would become his addiction by betting on horses.

This hobby would evolve into playing pokies and the thrill of it gripped Gus. While he was on the job it wasn’t that obvious as he would make ends meet. But when he became a pensioner the problem came to light and his son urged him to act.

Gus saw the error of his ways and decided to put himself on a list that would ban him from entering and playing at casinos. The addiction caused him to move to China. This was also done to keep his health in check. There are no casino establishments on the mainland, which is why he was winning the battle against addiction.

After some time in China, he went back to Australia. All seemed well until he decided to visit some of his old clubs. Naturally, most of them denied him entry as he was on a list, but not the CSi Club. He played some pokies and won a jackpot of around $11,000. When he went to get the prize, he was denied his winnings because he was on the list. The club wasn’t supposed to let him in, which is why it’s liable to a fine.

Conclusion

The current affair showcases just how tough battling gaming addiction can be. Gus has a long and hard road ahead of him. It’s unknown if he’ll get his winnings or not, but the battle against gaming addiction is ahead of him.
