Illegal Casinos Busted in Alabama
All casino venues need a license to operate. The license is issued by a specific commission or body in charge of finding out if an operator is fit for a license. The same goes for the casinos in the state of Alabama.
Etowah County was the place where 5 locations were discovered to be illegal casinos. The sheriff’s office along with the county’s Drug Enforcement Unit teamed up and seized over 100 slot machines and $13,579.79 in cash. The people behind operating these casinos are still being sought.
Over 100 Slot Machines Seized
Illegal casinos shouldn’t be around because they don’t have a license to operate in the areas they’re in. But certain people will stop at nothing to play casino games and make a profit out of people that like playing the games.
Several such locations were established in Etowah County. The people operating them didn’t apply for a license which is why they were under suspicion. 3 of those locations have been known to the police and the other two just completed the list.
The police received lots of noise complaints which is why the police decided to investigate. The 3 locations they knew about were given a second chance as the sheriff issued an order for them to stop their operations. Instead of following the order, the people in charge of the illegal casinos decided to move their operations elsewhere.
When the raid happened the Sheriff’s Office as well as the county’s drug enforcement unit found more than 100 slot machines at 5 illegal casinos. Over $13.000 were seized in cash, but the people behind the operations were not arrested. The machines will be destroyed and the money will be given to the state.
It’s only a matter of time before they are arrested and the police put them behind bars for their operations. These are the kinds of incidents that should remind every casino fan that they should only enjoy casino games at legal venues.
This way they’ll know that the casino will have them play in a safe environment because the casino is liable for any misdemeanors. The casino will also keep them safe and won’t try to swindle them out of their money. The same can be said about online casinos that operate with a license. A gaming commission will have issued that license which is why it’s a seal of approval, in a way.
Still, players in Alabama, and all over the state should take extra care not to visit illegal gaming venues. There’s no guarantee that they are safe there. A casino will have a player’s best interests in mind and will grant them the chance to win fairly.
Conclusion
The county in Alabama state had 5 illegal casinos raided. Their operations were stopped as the police seized over 100 slot machines and over $13,000 in cash. The people in charge of them haven’t been arrested, but the police have enough evidence to convict them once they are caught.
