The Tropicana Fades Away

The Tropicana Fades Away

Las Vegas is familiar to casino fans across the world because it’s made up of several iconic brand names. As time passes some of them expand, and some of them contract while others are gone forever.

The iconic Tropicana has been fading away in the past couple of years, and for the sake of the new wave, it might disappear. Government officials have already signed contracts to bring Oakland Athletics to Sin City by building a stadium. This could result in demolishing the casino to make way for the stadium.

The Iconic Casino Could Turn Into a Stadium

A legendary casino like The Tropicana seems like it will last forever. The Corleone family took over the casino, Sean Connery stayed the night, the Rat Pack led by Sinatra performed there and even Siegfried and Roy dazzled the audience with their magic.

These are only some of the iconic names associated with this iconic casino. Nowadays, the venue is a shell of its former self. There are only a handful of people enjoying slots, as the table games have been closed. Some of them watch certain sports events in the bar. The once iconic Tropicana has lost its shine.

The thing about Vegas is that it’s a city that’s always looking to please its visitors. That’s why a new wave of entertainment is coming to the Strip. The Oakland Athletics have already signed a deal with Bally’s to make a project come to life – a baseball stadium that will unite sports enthusiasts across the globe. The Nevada governor signed a bill to finance the $1.5 billion stadium, by adding $380 million to the tally.

The same governor signed another bill recently that approves public financing for the stadium. The next stage in the process is the approval of MLB’s owners to relocate to Sin City. As things are progressing, the stadium could be approved rather efficiently, and it may mean the end of the Tropicana as an iconic casino. Out with the old, and in with the new is the way of Vegas, so punters will need to start saying their farewells.

Conclusion

The Tropicana of Vegas is soon to be no more. The casino is not as popular as it once was which is why it might be demolished to make way for a new baseball stadium that could potentially bring other sports associations to Sin City.
